January 2025 ICRWC Meeting

ICRWC March Meeting Minutes 2025

IDAHO COUNTY REPUBLICAN WOMEN’S CLUB

Regular Monthly Meeting: Monday, March 10, 2025

The meeting was called to order by President Patricia Menough at 12:10 pm at the Trails Restaurant.   Lu Crea led the prayer and Pledge of Allegiance. Cherylyn Kerley made a motion for the February 2025 meeting minutes to be approved. Sue Kinner seconded.  Motion Passed

Treasurer Bobbie Blakley presented the Treasurer’s report.  Bank balance was $836. $80 was Deposited since last meeting. Disbursements total was $425 (IFRW Membership Dues $400 + IFRW Club Dues $25).  New Balance $491. Sue Kinner motioned to approve the Treasurers report and Andrea Soltman seconded.  Motion passed.

OLD BUSINESS

To reiterate our outreach thru Social Media:  Cami Strasser had setup a very nice Facebook Page for ICRWC and a Facebook Group.

ICRWC will continue to focus on raising money for the essay contest.  Mary Mangold to present an idea in May for fundraising.  (She will email info prior to May – but will be absent at the April meeting).

Suggestions for Speakers for ICRWC: Cami Strasser mentioned “Meals on Wheels” in our community from the Senior Center.   Mary mentioned “Camas Prairie Food Bank”.

Lincoln Day Dinner comments:   Many members of ICRWC attended. Sue Kinner felt it was best one, rated it A+.  Everyone was entertained.  Lu Crea had a real good time but stood outside for 30 mins and finally got checked in at 6pm. She was disappointed not to have much time to leisurely look at all the bucket auction items. Enjoyed the charcuterie. Patricia Menough felt there was not enough time for mingling. Cherylyn said loud voices were coming from the bar. Everyone felt the Idaho County Homeschoolers were a highlight of the event & how well they worked together, tending to the tables. Our caterer did a nice job and meats were not over-cooked due to delayed dinner line.  Patricia had a couple people ask why there was no dessert.   Vince felt success of the event was a totality of several elements:   Location (Elks), Trump win, Fundraising Committee’s efforts (Roy Farmer, Cory Koole, Patricia Menough, Mary Mangold). Sue Kinner helped at the check-in table and stood watch over the front.   Sue felt the dessert raffle was a big deal and earned good funds.   Lincoln Day Dinner earnings was approx $27K.

NEW BUSINESS

President Patricia Menough raised the topic (tabled at Feb meeting) of a Chaplin but the members felt we could simply assign a member for the next meeting to bring a prayer.

In lieu of Emeritus Past Member Marilyn Giddings request to continue receiving minutes and to be on the email chain. ICRWC determined we would send Marilyn a nice email to let her know to visit ICRCC website (https://idaho.idgop.org) to obtain minutes.  We don’t wish to set a precedent for all past members. Mary sent the email.

Vince Rundhaug made a presentation on the “MVSD Deconsolidation” that will be placed on our ballot to vote on in the May 20th Primary Elections.   The report manifested from a variety of sources containing hard facts and historical trends.   Vince provided a handout that Patricia Menough emailed to members.  Vince’s presentation was really eye opening,  conveying a different story from what some members of the School Board are using to propagandize a need for school deconsolidation.

Vince’s efforts on the reporting reflects his commitment to provide the “other side of the story” on “Mountain View School District Deconsolidation” pros and cons, and not just allow a murky set of opinions to influence voters.

Mary will work on a flyer to pull the facts together and depending on funding, possibly do bulk mailers or just have everyone email the flyer to friends and family.

BASKET RAFFLE: Cherylyn suggested rules for the raffle basket since its a fundraiser. Tickets are $1 if the member brings an item for the basket, $2 per raffle ticket if the member did not bring an item for the basket.

Cristy Imus won the basket at the March meeting which carried a St. Patricks day theme.

Next meeting is Monday, April 11th, 2025 at the Trail’s Restaurant.

Cherylyn Kerley made a motion to adjourn and Mary Mangold seconded and motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 2:15pm.
