There were 6 members present.  Only 20% is necessary for a quorum.

Cherylyn Kerley motioned for the March 25 minutes to be approved. Andrea Soltman 2nd the motion. Motioned passed unanimously.

Bobbie Blakely gave the Treasurer’s report.   Beginning balance was $491 and ending balance was $991.00 after receiving $500 from the Idaho County Republican Central Committee for our participation in the Lincoln Day Dinner

Sue Kinner motioned to approve the Treasurer’s report and Cherylyn Kerley 2nd.  The motion passed.

Cami Strasser reported that she has been posting flyers and invites on FB to our meetings.

Lisa Reynoldo was a guest.  She is on the Region 3 oversight of bills committee along with Rose Pogue and about a dozen others.  Their work is critical when the legislative body is in session.

Senator Cindy Carlson was present and gave an overview of the legislative session.  The session was exhausting.  They did get a pay raise and to mostly keep us not being represented by lobbyists.  There were lots of bills and lots that were passed.  There is a $1.3 billion reserve balance for the State, which is the largest ever.  They made improvements to the Foster Care system.  Over the last 3 years $400 million has been allocated to increase funding for schools besides the $1 billion in funds for school building maintenance over the next 10 years.  $1.3 million was removed from library budgets and they also have to do book audits and submit a report to JFAC in December 2025.  There are many factions of the Republican party in Boise and the legislators need to come together to support each other and to make good decisions.  They got a lot of good legislation through this year but the battle is far from over.

Rose Pogue gave a report on Idaho Citizens for Good Government (ICGG) in Kamiah.  They have been very busy promoting limited government.  They worked hard to identify and replace 9 of the most egregious legislators who claimed to be Republicans and did replace 4 of them.  They will continue to work on this project in the future.  They would like help.  If you are interested, they meet usually every other Tuesday in Kamiah above the Coffee Loft on Hwy 12 at 2pm.  They have a website:  idahocgg.org.  They also sent Tate Manley to Boise over the legislative session to assist Senator Carlson and paid $10,000.00 to sponsor him.  They are doing great work considering how small they are.  Please consider helping or even donating.

For New Business we discussed how to communicate death notices and that the President would handle the announcement and we can individually do our own condolences.

President Patricia Menough gave a list of events we may want to participate in in the upcoming months such as parades, fairs, and events.

President Patricia Menough informed us of a website called “ Find A Grave” that you can participate in if you are looking for places where your relatives may have been buried.

We discussed names for future speakers and came up with a good list.

Our Raffle winner was Bobbie Blakely…..again!  The theme for May is to bring something that starts with an M.

Our next meeting is May 12, 2025 at 12:00 at the Trails conference room.
